What is Nora-BE?
Nora-BE is medication that is used to prevent pregnancy. It is often referred to as the mini-pill because it does not contain any estrogen; it only contains progestin, which is a hormone that prevents pregnancy by making vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reach an egg and fertilizing it, and then changes the lining in the uterus to prevent any attachment of a fertilized egg. It can also stop the release of an egg. Nora-BE the mini-pill is more effective than certain other methods of birth control – condoms, cervical cap, and diaphragm, but it is less effective than combination hormone estrogen and progestin birth control because it does not consistently prevent ovulation. It is usually used by women who cannot take estrogen.

People taking Nora-BE mini pill may experience various side effects like vomiting, headache, bloating, breast, tenderness, swelling of the ankles and feet, and weight change may occur. Vaginal bleeding between periods, and missed periods may occur while taking Nora-BE mini pill. Nora-BE mini pill can also cause increase vaginal fluids and vaginal discomfort/irritation. Nora-BE mini pill does not prevent against HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
